Owners, Angie and Curtis Shreve, have come a long way since opening their restaurant in 1997. Bear Creek Open Pit BBQ had developed a reputation for their savory, home smoked bar-b-que. Customers enjoy delicious pork spare ribs, homemade sides, and daily specials with a Cajun kick. Eventually, the couple expanded into a dinning area, suited perfectly for the heart of a hunter and a great museum for kids.
Recently, in March of 2012, after fifteen years in business, the family and friends experienced a minor fire. Only a few months set back, they were back inside and striving more than ever. Unfortunately, it was time for a change. A new location. "Back to our roots!" was the plan, said Angie. "And better than ever", Curtis agreed.
